There was a firefighter competition at Oakview Mall Saturday, August 9, 2008. It was called the "Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge." Here's the description from their website:
Firefighters compete as individuals and relay teams, in full bunker gear. The Challenge is comprised of 5 tasks simulating actions taken at a structural fire. The tasks include:
1. Stair Climb – 5 story tower, carrying a 45lb high rise pack
2. Hose Hoist – hoist a 45lb hose roll up the 5 story tower
3. Forcible Entry – drive a 160lb block the distance of 5 ft with a 9lb shot mallet
4. Hose Advance – zigzag 140 ft between hydrants then advance a charged hose 75 ft
5. Victim Rescue – drag a 175lb “dummy” a distance of 100 ft to the finish line
